Corpse of fa­ther of 8 found at Gbazango

The corpse of a man said to be fa­ther of 8 chil­dren was found close to his house in Gbazango Ex­ten­sion, Kubwa in Bwari Area Coun­cil of the Fed­eral Cap­i­tal Ter­rtory (FCT).

City News learnt that the de­ceased, sim­ply iden­ti­fied as Musa, was dis­cov­ered by neigh­bours be­hind an un­com­pleted build­ing in the area.

One of the neigh­bours told our re­porter that the de­ceased, a ma­son, re­turned from work last Thurs­day and was watch­ing a movie on his hand­set in the sit­ting room be­fore his wives and chil­dren left him and went to bed.

He said one of the wives was later wo­ken up by the cry of one of the chil­dren who went to the sit­ting room to meet his fa­ther but dis­cov­ered that her hus­band was not there.

“She sud­denly raised alarm that at­tracted neigh­bours who im­me­di­ately mo­bi­lized for a search that led to the dis­cov­ery of the body not too far from his house,” he added.

The neigh­bour, who dis­closed that the man left be­hind two wives and eight chil­dren, how­ever said the cause of the death could not be as­cer­tained.

Re­act­ing, the Kubwa Di­vi­sional Po­lice Of­fi­cer, Chief Su­per­in­ten­dent Nur­rudeen Sabo, said the de­ceased might have been lynched as there were bruises all over his body.

He how­ever said the corpse had been buried ac­cord­ing to Is­lamic rites.
