I left PDP for good – Arume
The 2014 Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Imo State, Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume, has said that he will remain in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator Araraume was reacting to a media report which suggested that he had been scheming to return to the PDP ahead of 2019 general elections.
A statement issued in Owerri yesterday by the secretary of the Ifeanyi Araraume Destiny Foundation, Dr. James Okoroma, stressed that Araraume has nothing to do with the PDP any longer.
“I would remain in the APC as a progressive and shall not have anything to do with the PDP because it is an isolative evil,” the statement read.
The former senator, who represented Okigwe Senatorial Zone, stated that his victory at the December 18, 2014 PDP gubernatorial primaries was shortchanged through high-level conspiracy.
He confirmed that some PDP leaders had apologised and promised to give him the 2019 governorship ticket.
While describing the media report as blackmail meant to pitch him against the governor, he said he was comfortable with the APC where he had been working ‘harmoniously’ with Governor Rochas Okorocha.
“As a member of the APC state caucus, that of the South East and major stakeholder at the federal level, I have nothing to regret, and I would continue to support Governor Okorocha and President Muhammadu Buhari,” he added.
