Boko Haram kills 11 in Adamawa

Boko Haram militants killed 11 villagers and wounded many in Madagali area of Adamawa State on Saturday, our reporter gathered yesterday.

Residents reported that two female suicide bombers detonated explosives in Dar village, killing themselves and 11 people including three children.

Boko Haram have been launching attacks on villages since the liberation of Madagali area by Nigerian troops in February with residents calling for deployment of soldiers to surroundin­g villages and bushes where the militants are hiding.

Maina Ularamu, the former administra­tor of Madagali LGA said gun men stormed Dar at about 8:30 pm.

“Residents fled to the bush, after a moment, two women who disguised as fleeing locals blew themselves up at a crowded place in the bush while the gun men shot at survivors. So far 11 corpses have been found” he said.

The spokesman of ýthe Admawa Police Command, DSP Othman Abubakar, confirmed the death of 11 persons in the attack, adding that three houses were burnt while many of the wounded were receiving treatment at the hospital in Yola.

Unconfirme­d reports said the insurgents reportedly seized a military vehicle conveying food supplies on Friday around 5 pm at Gubla village. A tea seller was also abducted at the village.
