Flood kills 4, sacks com­mu­ni­ties in Imo

Flood has killed four per­sons and sacked four com­mu­ni­ties in Oguta Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Area of Imo State.

Daily Trust cor­re­spon­dent who vis­ited the area, re­ports that farm­lands were washed away in the dis­as­ter.

Some in­di­genes of the area in­clud­ing Pres­i­dent,

worth in the Oguta Youth As­so­ci­a­tion Vin­cent Azuogu, de­cried the sit­u­a­tion, adding that many peo­ple from the area are now refugees.

Deputy Chief of Staff to the gover­nor, Kings­ley Uju, do­nated some re­lief ma­te­ri­als when he vis­ited the area to as­cer­tain the level of dam­age caused by the flood.

The Deputy Chief of Staff con­soled the peo­ple, while not­ing that flood is a nat­u­ral oc­cur­rence.

He pleaded with them to al­ways ad­here to NIMET warn­ings.
