APC candidate files appeal against Mark

- From Hope Abah, Makurdi

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Benue South senatorial election in March 2015, Daniel Onjeh, on Tuesday filed an appeal against former Senate President, David Mark, whose victory at the polls was upheld by a tribunal.

The Justice Mosumola Dipeolu-led panel on National/State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Makurdi, had dismissed Onjeh’s petition against Mark on all grounds.

Onjeh had earlier approached the court to nullify the election in over 700 polling units and order for a fresh one.

However, the petitioner, who cried foul over the judgment, has filed notice of appeal on 12 grounds to challenge the verdict of the tribunal which according to him did not properly address the issues raised in his petition.
