Ab­dul­salami, Og­beh, Otudeko, Adamu for Daily Trust Agric con­fab

The former Head of State and Chair­man, Maizube Farms, Gen­eral Ab­dul­salami Abubakar ( rtd), Honourable Min­is­ter in-wait­ing, Chief Audu Og­beh, Chair­man, Honey­well Group, Dr Oba Otudeko and Chair­man, Na­gari Dairy In­te­grated Farm and former Nasarawa State Gover­nor, Sen­a­tor Ab­dul­lahi Adamu, have all con­firmed to be among the spe­cial guests that will at­tend the 1st Daily Trust Agric Con­fer­ence and Ex­hi­bi­tion in part­ner­ship with the Fed­eral Min­istry of Agri­cul­ture and Ru­ral De­vel­op­ment.

The event is sched­uled to take place at NAF Con­fer­ence Cen­tre and Suites, Plot 498, Ah­madu Bello Way, along NEXT Cash and Carry ex­press­way, Kado, Abuja, 27th and 28th Oc­to­ber, 2015.

The con­fer­ence which has the theme, ‘Be­yond Crude Oil: How Agribusi­ness Can Sus­tain Nige­ria’s Econ­omy’ will also have in at­ten­dance state gov­er­nors as spe­cial guests of hon­our, where they are also ex­pected to present their state’s agri­cul­ture po­ten­tials to in­vestors and other stake­hold­ers.

The dis­tin­guished guest of hon­our is Gen­eral Abul­salami Abubakar, and the dis­tin­guished guest is Chief Audu Og­beh, while Dr. Oba Otudeko and Sen­a­tor Ab­dul­lahi Adamu will be chair­men of ple­nary for day one and day two re­spec­tively.

The Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary, Fed­eral Min­istry of Agri­cul­ture and Ru­ral De­vel­op­ment, Arch Sonny Echono, who will be the chief co­host, will de­liver a key­note ad­dress at the open­ing cer­e­mony.

The con­fer­ence will have speak­ers/ dis­cus­sants drawn from both the pub­lic and pri­vate sec­tors. Th­ese in­clude, the Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cers ( CEOs) of Bank of Agri­cul­ture, BOA, Nige­rian Agri­cul­tural In­sur­ance Cor­po­ra­tion, NAIC, Nige­ria Com­mod­ity Ex­change, NCEX, Nige­ria Ex­port Pro­mo­tion Coun­cil, NEPC, Unity Bank Plc, NIRSAL of CBN and the academia among other top ex­ec­u­tives.

All Farm­ers As­so­ci­a­tion of Nige­ria, AFAN, Fed­er­a­tion of Agric Com­modi­ties As­so­ci­a­tions of Nige­ria, FACAN, state Agri­cul­tural De­vel­op­ment Pro­grammes, fer­til­izer manufacturing or­gan­i­sa­tions, re­search in­sti­tutes, agro pro­cess­ing in­dus­tries/agro al­lied in­dus­tries, ex­perts in the agri­cul­ture value chain, univer­sity dons, NGOs and the diplo­matic com­mu­nity among other stake­hold­ers.

Ex­hibitors will also have the op­por­tu­nity to dis­play their prod­ucts, fly­ers and other cor­po­rate ban­ners at the event. It is also an op­por­tu­nity for the ex­hibitors to ex­plain more about those prod­ucts to stake­hold­ers and other in­vestors that are look­ing for op­por­tu­nity to in­vest in the sec­tor.

Par­tic­i­pants will brain­storm on the de­vel­op­ment of agri­cul­ture in Nige­ria and how the sec­tor can com­ple­ment crude oil as cash cow for Nige­ria’s econ­omy.

The com­mu­niqué ar­rived at the ses­sions will be com­mu­ni­cated to the Pres­i­dency in line with the vi­sion of Pres­i­dent Muham­madu Buhari’s vi­sion of di­ver­si­fi­ca­tion of the na­tion’s econ­omy.
