- From Patrick Odey, Uyo

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel has threatened to dismiss principals and heads of primary schools found guilty of mismanaging subventions.

The Governor gave

the warning following widespread allegation of malpractices and embezzlement of subventions by principal officers of primary and secondary schools across.

The development, it was gathered, forced former Governor Godswill Akpabio to stop the monthly grants to schools instituted to sustain the free education policy.

Speaking in radio programme in Uyo, Governor Udom said any head teacher found guilty of corrupt practices will have himself to blame.

“This government will not tolerate any further mismanagement of subvention given to schools and any school head found guilty of this will not be spared.

“This administration is committed to zero tolerance to corruption and this must be standing practice for all public officers of the state’’ he said.
