Miyetti Al­lah tasks IGP over Abuja herders killings

The na­tional pres­i­dent of the Miyetti Al­lah Cat­tle Breed­ers As­so­ci­a­tion of Nige­ria (MACBAN), Al­haji Bello Ab­dul­lahi Badejo, has ap­pealed to the In­spec­tor Gen­eral of Po­lice (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase, to bring killers of the six fam­ily mem­bers in an Abuja herder’s camp to book.

Re­act­ing to the in­ci­dent yes­ter­day, Badejo ex­pressed shock and sad­ness over the grue­some mur­der of his kins­men, urg­ing the fed­eral gov­ern­ment to do jus­tice by un­rav­el­ling those be­hind the killings.

He said it has be­come nec­es­sary for the fed­eral gov­ern­ment and se­cu­rity agen­cies to do every­thing pos­si­ble by car­ry­ing a thor­ough in­ves­ti­ga­tion that would lead to the ar­rest of the per­pe­tra­tors, say­ing the in­ces­sant at­tacks and killing of his kins­men was be­com­ing un­bear­able.

He said the killing of herders in Abuja vil­lages was be­com­ing a re­cur­ring dec­i­mal and ex­pressed the as­so­ci­a­tion’s dis­plea­sure at it.

The MACBAN pres­i­dent, com­mended the FCT Po­lice Com­mis­sioner, Mr.Wil­son Inalegwu, for his con­cern and prompt re­sponse to the at­tack, and ad­vised mem­bers of the Fu­lani com­mu­ni­ties in the ter­ri­tory to al­ways co­op­er­ate with se­cu­rity agents in en­sur­ing their lives and cat­tle were se­cure.

It would be re­called that some sus­pected gun­men on Tues­day night in­vaded a Fu­lani camp near Pyakasa vil­lage, an Abuja sub­urb along Air­port road, killing six fam­ily mem­bers, that com­prised of three men and three women, while four other women, in­clud­ing a year-old child sus­tained bul­let wounds.
