Miyetti Allah tasks IGP over Abuja herders killings
The national president of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Badejo, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase, to bring killers of the six family members in an Abuja herder’s camp to book.
Reacting to the incident yesterday, Badejo expressed shock and sadness over the gruesome murder of his kinsmen, urging the federal government to do justice by unravelling those behind the killings.
He said it has become necessary for the federal government and security agencies to do everything possible by carrying a thorough investigation that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, saying the incessant attacks and killing of his kinsmen was becoming unbearable.
He said the killing of herders in Abuja villages was becoming a recurring decimal and expressed the association’s displeasure at it.
The MACBAN president, commended the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr.Wilson Inalegwu, for his concern and prompt response to the attack, and advised members of the Fulani communities in the territory to always cooperate with security agents in ensuring their lives and cattle were secure.
It would be recalled that some suspected gunmen on Tuesday night invaded a Fulani camp near Pyakasa village, an Abuja suburb along Airport road, killing six family members, that comprised of three men and three women, while four other women, including a year-old child sustained bullet wounds.
