Five people died while 25 others sustained various degrees of injuries in an auto crash along the JibiaKatsina road at the weekend.

State sector commandant of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Abdu Sule Bagadawa, who confirmed the accident, said it was caused by dangerous driving on the part of the motorists.
He said among the injured who were rushed to the Katsina General Hospital, seven were critically injured and on admission while others were treated and discharged.
He enjoined motorists to always adhere to traffic rules for safety of their lives and those of other road users. Acting Chairman of Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS), Dashe Arlat has expressed dissatisfaction with the performances of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the area of revenue generation.
The revenue chief told newsmen last week that out of the N4.4 billion realised as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the last nine months, the MDAs accounted for only N1.18 billion.
“Their collections put together is supposed to surpass that of the service; however, they are far from that expectation,” Arlat said.
He tasked the MDAs and 17 local government areas to step up their revenue collection efforts to address the state’s financial crisis.
“If you look at what the state has generated so far, we are far from meeting our target and this is due to several factors including the global economic recession. In fact, we have to wake up to the challenge, to take more drastic steps towards ensuring better results,” he said.
He stressed that some of the MDAs had the potentials to generate substantial revenue for the state.
