NSCDC officers meet in Zamfara over armed banditry, cattle rustling
The Assistant Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCD)in charge of Zone ‘D’ headquarters, Ahmed Muhammed Jega and commandants from five states met in Gusau,Zamfara State to work out modalities on how to end the menace of cattle rustling and armed banditry in the affected states.
The meeting, which had in attendance, NSCDC commandants from Kebbi ,Niger, Sokoto, Kwara states and all Area Commanders and divisional officers of the state command was hosted by Commandant Abdullahi Ibrahim of Zamfara State.
The top NSCDC officers said that the rising criminal activities in the zone such as cattle rustling, armed banditry, vandalization of infrastructures, rape among others call for urgent solution.
The Assistant Commandant General, Ahmed muhammed Jega, who chaired the meeting, said they were in Zamfara to interact with stakeholders and to strengthen the cordial relationship with other security agencies to ensure strong synergy and a collaborative approach towards tackling the menace of armed banditry and other crimes in the zone.
He then commended the effort of the traditional rulers in the state for the support and cooperation rendered to the NSCDC divisional offices across the 14 local government areas of the state just a he warned the officers to ensure high level of discipline in the discharge of their duties.
