It’s easy to defeat Kwali council chairman – APC candidate

-

Candidate the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming area council election in Kwali, Mr. Joseph Shazin, has expressed confidence that his party would defeat the incumbent chairman, Ibrahim Daniel of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking with journalists shortly after he was declared winner of the APC primary election, Shazin, a former chairman of the council, said he was optimistic that his party would form the next government in Kwali Area Council.

“It is not difficult to defeat an incumbent chairman in Kwali. I was an incumbent chairman when I was pushed aside. I have also come to push somebody aside,” he said.

He noted that during his tenure in 2010, he did some projects that positively affected the lives of residents, especially rural dwellers, adding that the area council has not moved forward since he left office in 2013. He said that if given the mandate, his administration would continue from where it stopped, especially in the provision of amenities such as rural roads, water, electricity, health care services, and scholarships.

He thanked party delegates for believing in him, and urged them to brace up for the election, which will hold next year. He also advised party supporters to remain law abiding to constituted authorities in the area.
