Reps meet US en­voy, oth­ers over sex scan­dal Thurs­day

The House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives Com­mit­tee on Ethics and Priv­i­leges will Thurs­day meet the outgoing US Am­bas­sador to Nige­ria, Mr James En­twistle, over the al­le­ga­tions lev­elled against three mem­bers of the House.

The com­mit­tee will also meet the Min­is­ter of For­eign Af­fairs, Ge­of­frey Onyema as well as rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Com­mit­tee for the De­fence of Hu­man Rights (CDHR) and Na­tional Hu­man Rights Com­mis­sion.

En­twistle had last month writ­ten a let­ter to Speaker Yakubu Dog­ara in­form­ing him that Rep Mo­hammed Garba Gololo (APC, Bauchi) “grabbed” a female ho­tel staff, while Reps Mark Gbil­lah (APC, Benue) and Samuel Ikon (PDP, A/Ibom) so­licited for sex through car park at­ten­dants dur­ing a lead­er­ship pro­gramme in Cleve­land, Ohio, US in April.
