Mon­day, 4th July, the Sul­tan di­rected Mus­lims to fast the fol­low­ing day, Tues­day, 5th to com­plete 30 days of fast­ing, thus Sal­lah fell on Wed­nes­day, 6th and Mus­lims had the ex­tended hol­i­day of Thurs­day to con­tinue their fes­tiv­i­ties or make the re­turn jour­ney to their lo­ca­tions to re­sume work on Fri­day, 8th July, 2016.

Of all the bit­ter Chris­tian crit­i­cisms of mat­ters con­cern­ing Is­lam and Mus­lims, this one by 16 so called Chris­tian groups is the most ir­ra­tional. Con­trary to their poi­sonous and blind al­lu­sion, the Sul­tan of Sokoto and Nige­ria’s Amirul Mu­m­i­neen, did not di­rect the fed­eral gov­ern­ment to do any­thing; the Sul­tan sim­ply di­rected Mus­lims to fast on Tues­day to com­plete 30 days of Ra­madan after which it would be deemed that the month had ended and Wed­nes­day, 6th would be 1st Shawwal and Sal­lah day.
