- By Abubakar Sadiq Isah

The Acting Secretary of the Local Education Authority (LEA) of Kuje Area Council, Alhaji Ado Babantakwa, has said that the authority has a staff strength of 2,200.

Speaking at an indoor training for clerical and executive officers of the authority, yesterday, he identified lack of promotion and non-implementation of the 2014 promotion exercise as major challenges.

He said that the LEA has 99 primary schools, 25 junior secondary schools, adding that it became imperative for the council authorities to aid the office to tackle some of it’s challenges.

On the training, he said: “Most of them (trainees) are not always conscious of the role they play in enhancing job performance, which informed our decision to organise training for them.”

In his speech, the chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, said that his administration would not compromise on performance, adding that staff must discharge their duty diligently.

The chairman commended the acting secretary for organising the training, saying that was in the interest of the people of the council.
