Kuje LEA has 2, 200 staff strength-says act­ing sec­re­tary

The Act­ing Sec­re­tary of the Lo­cal Ed­u­ca­tion Author­ity (LEA) of Kuje Area Coun­cil, Al­haji Ado Ba­ban­takwa, has said that the author­ity has a staff strength of 2,200.

Speak­ing at an in­door train­ing for cler­i­cal and ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cers of the author­ity, yes­ter­day, he iden­ti­fied lack of promotion and non-im­ple­men­ta­tion of the 2014 promotion ex­er­cise as ma­jor chal­lenges.

He said that the LEA has 99 pri­mary schools, 25 ju­nior sec­ondary schools, adding that it be­came im­per­a­tive for the coun­cil au­thor­i­ties to aid the of­fice to tackle some of it’s chal­lenges.

On the train­ing, he said: “Most of them (trainees) are not al­ways con­scious of the role they play in en­hanc­ing job per­for­mance, which in­formed our de­ci­sion to or­gan­ise train­ing for them.”

In his speech, the chair­man of the coun­cil, Al­haji Ab­dul­lahi D. Gal­adima, said that his ad­min­is­tra­tion would not com­pro­mise on per­for­mance, adding that staff must dis­charge their duty dili­gently.

The chair­man com­mended the act­ing sec­re­tary for or­gan­is­ing the train­ing, say­ing that was in the in­ter­est of the peo­ple of the coun­cil.
