FROM OUR READERS
I read Prof Philip Njemanze’s stand on GMO crops in Nigeria in your last edition, his analysis was scientific and reasonable. My hope is that relevant government authorities would consider varying opinions on the policy before imposing it on us. Thank you, may God bless Nigeria. - Samson Audu, Lapai, Niger State.
Editor, please help us tell the Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh, that rural farmers are yet to benefit from his programme so far. For instance, when are we getting subsidised farm inputs? Is it after the wet season farming? Let him answer these questions please. Thanks. - Toyin Ajayi, Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Editor, Nigerians are not saying much on the extension of the ban placed on our beans by the European Union. I read it recently on these pages and it is quite disturbing. Is it that our government failed to correct what the EU noticed that was wrong in the first year of the ban? May God help Nigeria. - Aminu, Gombe, Gombe State.
Answer
Aminu, our interview with Dr. Vincent Isegbe, the Coordinating Director, Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services, is published today and you can find more on the ban from it. - Editor.
