If I leave MFM, I will go Europe – Ifeanyi

-

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) midfielder Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has said his dream is to play in Europe any time he decides to part ways with the Nigerian Professional Football League side.

In a chat with Daily Trust in Lagos, the former Nigeria Flying Eagles player disclosed that at the end of the first stanza of the current league, four clubs called for his services which he rejected.

“Actually they are teams that bided for me like Enyimba, Kano Pillars, Warri Wolves and Rangers. They came for me but MFM has been my home from the onset, even if I am going to leave MFM that will be to the European club by the grace of God,” he said.

Speaking on the expectations of the Lagos-based club at the end of the season, Ifeanyi who has contributed to the success of the team so far, said he was optimistic about MFM finishing among the top four clubs that will participate in next year’s CAF competition.

“Top four has been our target from the beginning of the season, but due to the what happened, we dropped but we will still come up and make that top four, nothing has changed,” he stated.

He also expressed confidence of playing for the national team, adding that “the club you play for does not matter. Playing for a smaller team does not deny one the chance of getting a shirt in the national team.

“Where you will play, some play in Asia and some players are in other countries and they don’t have shirt in the super eagles, the club you play for doesn’t matter for you to play in the national team, what matters most is what people see in you.

“Playing for MFM does not stop me from playing in the national team. Actually I played for MFM and played in the U-20 world cup, so I can still play in the super eagle from MFM,” he said.
