Pas­tor, 4 el­ders ab­ducted from Lokoja church

Gun­men on Sun­day kid­napped a pas­tor with the Christ Apos­tolic Church (CAC), Prophet Lawal and four el­ders dur­ing a ser­vice in Lokoja.

Wit­nesses said the gun­men num­ber­ing about six stormed the church lo­cated around Old Poly Quar­ters while the ser­vice was on and ab­ducted the pas­tor and the other el­ders of the church.

Daily Trust learnt that the kid­nap­pers, who have opened com­mu­ni­ca­tion with the fam­i­lies of the cap­tives, are de­mand­ing N10 mil­lion ran­som.

The Kogi State Po­lice Com­mis­sioner, Mr Yakubu Us­man, who con­firmed the in­ci­dent, told Daily Trust that the cler­gy­men were ab­ducted from a moun­tain top where they were hav­ing prayers and not from a church.

He said per­son­nel from the Com­mand were comb­ing the bushes to se­cure the re­lease of the cler­gy­men.
