Pastor, 4 elders abducted from Lokoja church
Gunmen on Sunday kidnapped a pastor with the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Prophet Lawal and four elders during a service in Lokoja.
Witnesses said the gunmen numbering about six stormed the church located around Old Poly Quarters while the service was on and abducted the pastor and the other elders of the church.
Daily Trust learnt that the kidnappers, who have opened communication with the families of the captives, are demanding N10 million ransom.
The Kogi State Police Commissioner, Mr Yakubu Usman, who confirmed the incident, told Daily Trust that the clergymen were abducted from a mountain top where they were having prayers and not from a church.
He said personnel from the Command were combing the bushes to secure the release of the clergymen.
