MDG spends N1.2b on 36 class­rooms, 20 health clin­ics

The Mil­len­nium De­vel­op­ment Goals (MDGs) has spent N1.8 bil­lion on con­struc­tion of 36 class­rooms and 20 pri­mary health care cen­tres (PHCs) in the ru­ral ar­eas of Plateau State.

The MDGs Plateau State Co­or­di­na­tor, Hon. Sa­muel Da­mala, told news­men in Jos yes­ter­day that the work by the con­trac­tors was good, and dis­closed that the MDGs con­structed about 36 class­rooms, 20 PHCs, 17 bore­holes and nine VIP toi­lets from Jan­uary to June, 2016.

He put the project cost at N1.8 bil­lion, to which he said lo­cal gov­ern­ments con­trib­uted 20%, while the state govern­ment con­trib­uted 30% and fed­eral govern­ment 50%.

He said the project was done in six lo­cal govern­ment ar­eas, namely Jos North, Barkin Ladi, Mangu, Kanke, Shan­dam and Wase.
