Teenager stabs friend to death during football match

A friendly football match held at Okota area of Lagos yesterday morning ended in a heated argument amidst which one Kayode Babayanju allegedly stabbed his friend, Michael Tanko.

Daily Trust gathered that the victim bled to death before he could get to hospital.

The incident, which occurred at no 47 Oseni Laide Street, Okota, was said to have started as fun for both teams as they played football on the street.

A misunderstanding had ensued between the opposing teams, escalating into the physical confrontation that saw Babayanju stab Tanko.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident.
