Edo traditional ruler denies endorsing Ize-Iyamu
The vice chairman, Edo State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, the Onojie of Opoji, HRH Ehidiamen Aidonojie 1, has described as untrue, reports that traditional rulers in Edo Central senatorial district of the state, have endorsed the governorship candidate of the PDP, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Aidonojie, who spoke to newsmen yesterday, said they were only invited to come and listen to what the PDP wanted to tell them and not endorsement.
“Besides, I stated at that occasion that Esan people are like the Jews surrounded by Arabs. I told the PDP people that it is action that speaks, that how are we sure that what they are preaching now is better than what APC has done for us.
Our correspondent recalled that HRM Eidenojie, had at his palace at the weekend, when together with other traditional rulers received Ize-Iyamu, said among other things, ““We, the Enigie in Esanland, believe that if we give you our support, you will not betray us. We want to say that Esan nation is part and parcel of this state. We know how much we have been relegated in our own state, and we are very unhappy about it.”
