Abuja Bizman accused of defiling neighbour’s daughter

-

An Abuja magistrate’s court sitting in Jiwa has ordered for the remand of a businessman from Karmo, an Abuja suburb, over allegation of defiling eight-years-old daughter of his neighbour.

The prosecutor, David Kafanchan, said the suspect, Emanuel Ude, 31, was reported to the police divisional headquarters in Karmo on July 7, the day of the incident, by the father of the victim.

He said the matter was first discovered by the mother of the girl after noticing that the girl was bleeding from her private part.

According to the prosecutor, when the mother questioned her, the girl said the accused had sent her to buy something for him and on coming back, he inserted his finger into her private part which resulted to the injury.

The prosecutor further informed the court that the victim was rushed to the Gwarinpa General Hospital by the police where she was treated at the cost of N15,000.

He said the offence is contrary to Section 275 of the penal code.

The accused denied the one-count charge and asked for bail.

Magistrate Omolola Tolulope rejected the request, citing the tense situation in the area where the alleged offence was committed as reason.

The magistrate adjourned the case to August 9, for hearing.
