NFF panel to name new Technical Adviser in seven days

The Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has instructed its Technical and Developmen­t Subcommitt­ee to, within the next seven days, recommend a candidate for the post of Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles.

This was contained in a communique released after the meeting of the Committee in Abuja yesterday.

It noted that the refusal of Mr. Paul Le Guen, earlier recommende­d by the Sub-Committee, to accept to be given targets as well as unwillingn­ess to live in Nigeria, made his candidatur­e unacceptab­le to the Board.

The board also disapprove­d Mr. Le Guen’s desire to come to the job with two assistants, which according to it would make Nigerian coaches redundant.

The Committee further resolved that any candidate that would be so recommende­d by the Technical and Developmen­t sub-committee must have accepted to be handed targets and must also be willing to live in Nigeria.

It however, approved the appointmen­t of Mr. Salisu Yusuf as Chief Coach of the Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles and Head of the CHAN team.

The Technical and Developmen­t ment sub-committee of the NFF had on Monday, recommende­d the appointmen­t of the former Kano ano Pillars coach alongside others.

The Board also approved the e appointmen­t of Mr. Imama a Amakapabo as Assistantt Coach and Mr. Alloy Agu as s Goalkeeper­s’ Trainer of the e Super Eagles.

Also approved was the recommenda­tion for Mr. Bitrus trus Bewarang to become the new National Technical Director. He replaces the late Coach Shaibu ibu Amodu. Board also approved the recommenda­tion for Mr. Nduka uka Ugbade to return to the U-17 -17 National Team as Assistant Coach. ch.

Meanwhile, the Executive ive Committee approved that hat henceforth, only the Head ead Coaches of the various National nal Teams will be on monthly hly salary, while assistant coaches hes will receive only bonuses and allowances.

The assistant coaches presently employed by the NFF have been given till the endd of this year to secure substantiv­e tive employment elsewhere.
