Kidnapped Indians, monarch released in Benue

Two Indians who were kidnapped from Dangote Cement factory in Gboko local government area of Benue state have regained their freedom after 17 days in captivity.

Also, a traditiona­l ruler, Chief Tsegba Gbor Baja, who was abducted on July 9 from his home at Adekaa in Gboko, has been released by his kidnappers.

Daily Trust reports that the foreigners were abducted by some gunmen on June 29, while Chief Baja, an octogenari­an who is the father of a top politician, Terngu Tsegba, was whisked away without his drugs.

Police spokesman, ASP Moses Yamu said yesterday in Makurdi that the kidnapped persons were released due to the heat on their abductors following the arrest of some key players in the kidnapping ring.
