Troops kill 42 B/Haram militants
The Nigerian Army says troops on counter insurgency operations in Kukawa LGA of Borno State killed 42 Boko Haram militants in Gangere village on Tuesday.
A statement from army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman said troops swooped on the militants following confirmed intelligence report on the convergence and massing up of dislodged Boko Haram militants at Gangere village in Kukawa to carry out attacks on some isolated communities.
He said 38 women and 42 children held captive were rescued.
