Kaita heads Reps Housing C’ttee

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has appointed Rep Ahmed Babba Kaita to head the committee on housing.

Kaita (APC, Katsina) took over from Mustapha Bala Dawaki (APC, Kano), who replaced Abdulmumin Jibrin as chairman of the appropriation committee on Wednesday.

Jibrin’s removal from the appropriation committee followed his involvement in the controversy that trailed the 2016 budget consideration by the National Assembly, where he reportedly allocated projects worth Nn4.3 billion to his Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State.

Kaita was a staunch supporter of the current House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, during the race for the office of speaker last year.
