The Initiative for Entrepreneurship and Talent Advancement (IETA), a nongovernmental organisation said it will empower one million youth on being self-employed.

The President, Amb. Pax Joel, in a statement said, “IETA is set to empower the youth both in providing skill acquisition programmes and funds.

“The organization will give loans to the youth to enable them to start or continue their enterprises in areas where they have comparative advantages. This is in response to government’s initiative on entrepreneurship and job creation by which the organisation will ensure steady training and empowerment of the youth,’’ he said.

He stressed the need to empower the youth to be change agents and to let them develop their own ideas to effectively make decisions.

Joel said that the organisation had recently presented a public interactive session in Abuja to the youth on the need to key into some commercial activities.

He said highlights of the session included the presentation of Swiss golden Team, a platform intended to expose the youth to methods of making extra fund to support their entrepreneurial activities.
