KDSG provides Napier grass seeds for Kachia grazing reserve

- From Maryam Ahmadu-Suka, Kaduna

The Kaduna State Government has officially launched distribution of Tinapiar grass in Laduga Grazing Reserve in Kachia local government area of the state.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Daniel Manzo who officially flagged off the distribution of the grass seedling yesterday, said, “The Napier grass is the highest yielding grass fodder which is also nutritious.”

Speaking on the benefits of a well-kept grazing reserve, Manzo said, “Imagine a system where all lactating cows will not go out to graze but are kept in one place to conserve their energy and channel it to milk production. It will end up producing up to six litres per day.”
