Robbers snatch N2m from fuel station staff in Kubwa

Suspected robbers on Monday snatched about N2 million from staff of Total Service Station, Gado Nasko Road, Kubwa.

City News gathered that the staff had packed the money which was their sales for the weekend and were on the way to the bank to deposit it when the incident happened. A police source said the incident happened at about 11.00a.m. after the suspects trailed the workers to one of the banks in Kubwa.

“The hoodlums attacked them and collected the bag of money before they could enter the bank,” the source said.

The DPO of Kubwa Police Division, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, who confirmed the incident, said about N2 million was snatched by the hoodlums.

He said police officers were alerted over the incidence and they engaged the robbers before they escaped through a canal around Bauchi Street, Off Gado Nasko Road in the area.

“We shot at them and some of them went with gunshot injury. We are combing the area now and following the blood trail.

“We are questionin­g some staff of Total in connection with the robbery because we suspect an insider is working with the hoodlums,” he said.
