Rob­bers snatch N2m from fuel sta­tion staff in Kubwa

Sus­pected rob­bers on Monday snatched about N2 mil­lion from staff of To­tal Ser­vice Sta­tion, Gado Nasko Road, Kubwa.

City News gath­ered that the staff had packed the money which was their sales for the week­end and were on the way to the bank to de­posit it when the in­ci­dent hap­pened. A po­lice source said the in­ci­dent hap­pened at about 11.00a.m. af­ter the sus­pects trailed the work­ers to one of the banks in Kubwa.

“The hood­lums at­tacked them and col­lected the bag of money be­fore they could en­ter the bank,” the source said.

The DPO of Kubwa Po­lice Di­vi­sion, CSP Nu­rud­deen Sabo, who con­firmed the in­ci­dent, said about N2 mil­lion was snatched by the hood­lums.

He said po­lice of­fi­cers were alerted over the in­ci­dence and they en­gaged the rob­bers be­fore they es­caped through a canal around Bauchi Street, Off Gado Nasko Road in the area.

“We shot at them and some of them went with gun­shot in­jury. We are comb­ing the area now and fol­low­ing the blood trail.

“We are ques­tion­ing some staff of To­tal in con­nec­tion with the rob­bery be­cause we sus­pect an in­sider is work­ing with the hood­lums,” he said.
