Abaji council boss to summon town hall meeting over debts

The chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, has disclosed that he will summon a town hall meeting to update residents of the liabilities he inherited from the past administration of the council.

He stated this shortly after he received the transition committee report yesterday.

He said the committee, which he inaugurated on May 15, 2016, was not aimed at witch-hunting anybody, but rather, to let the electorate know of what he met on assuming office.

The chairman commended the members for their commitment and courage for carrying out the assignment successfully, despite some challenges.

Earlier, the chairman of the transition committee, Alhaji Mohammed Nazifi Aminu, said some staff were interrogated and that the job was done to the best of their abilities.
