Alumni wade into LAUTECH crisis

- From Dele Ogunyemi, Ibadan

The Alumni Association of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has appealed to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun and his Oyo State counterpart, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, to find a solution to the strike action by unions, which led to the closure of the institution for weeks. The university is jointly owned by the two states. This was contained in a press statement issued by the association, and jointly signed by the National President, Jide Bewaji; General Secretary, Kamal K. Oloso and the Public Relations Officer, Owoyokun Samson.

“It has become imperative as the owners of the university and concerned major stakeholders in the LAUTECH project to make a clarion call to the governments of Oyo and Osun states to compassionately rescue the institution from untimely collapse and save the future of our beloved undergraduates,” it said.
