Hoodlums set Akwa Ibom LG secretariat ablaze

Unknown hoodlums have set ablaze a part of Mkpat Enin Local Government Council secretariat in Akwa Ibom State, destroying properties worth millions of naira.

Daily Trust gathered that the incident was a fallout of the many grievances of the people towards the council’s administrators and other political differences.

Reacting to the incident, the commissioner of Rural Development, Ekong Sampson, called on the law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to book.

Sampson, who was also the former chairman of Mkpat Enin Council, said violence cannot solve problems and political misunderstandings.
