Fear grips Ikorodu residents over planned cult clash

Residents of Lambo Lasun Community, Ikorodu, Lagos, were yesterday gripped by fear over a rumoured planned cult clash in the area.

The rumoured battle between the Aiye and Eiye confraternity took on an element of reality due to last Thursday’s murder of one Ede Emeka ,who was believed to be a staunch member of one of the two cult groups.

His aggrieved members were said to have planned to carry out reprisal attacks against the rival cult group believed to be responsible for Emeka’s murder.

Residents and students scampered for safety, while shops were shut in the early hours of yesterday over the planned attacks in the area.

Taiwo Awodun, a student of Lagos State Polytechnic said the planned attack disrupted his routine because he was afraid of being wounded in the event that the cultists struck.
