CITY NEWS Housewife electrocuted in Suleja

A26-year-old housewife, Zuwaira Musa, was recently electrocuted at Unguwar Bayi, Suleja, Niger State.

A resident of the area, identified as Yahuza, said that the incident happened at about 4:12pm, when the deceased was washing clothes. He said that the deceased, who is a mother of three, was spreading her children’s clothes, after she washed them, when her hand came into contact with a live electric cable.

He said that she slumped to the ground and died on the way to the hospital. “Her husband was not at home when the incident happened but neighbours phoned him and he rushed back home only to see the corpse of his wife,” Yahuza said. “Her remains were later buried according to Islamic rites.”

The Suleja Divisional Police Officer (DPO) could not be reached for his comment. A police officer at the station said the division was not aware of the incident.
