Re: PMB, it’s time to make a choice: Lead us or give chance
This piece is a response to Mr. Ahmed Abdulrahman’s downhearted article, in which he expressed pessimism, desperation or despondency over President Buhari’s administration. The write-up which published on page 43 of the Daily Trust newspaper of January 10, 2017, had jolted me.
Indeed, Mr. Abdulrahman, being a Muslim, he must believe in predestination which is one of the six articles of faith in Islam, in which every Muslim is required to believe in and live by. He must also believe in the Preserved Tablet of God, whereby whatever is occurring, occurred or is going to occur were written down in that book. This means that, President Buhari shouldn’t be blamed for causing this terrible scenario we found ourselves in Nigeria because even President Buhari is being controlled by God’s ordainment. Thus, associating the current untold hardship with President Buhari is tantamount to losing our faith.
However, in my own humble perception, I regarded Nigeria as a crushed car which strewed on a highway, whereby PMB had been devoting all his energies and efforts to repair it. Hence, devastation that occurred in the past 16 years couldn’t be rebuilt in just two years.
Concerning those youths seeking for jobs as claimed by Mr. Ahmed, I think he may not know the massive job recruitments being conducted by PMB’s administration.
Undeniably, PMB has focused on social investment programmes in Nigeria, but the wailers are constantly wailing about it because of their jaundiced perception. These wailers are not capable of thinking how our indescribable hardship is being fueled by the pipeline vandalism by the Niger Delta Avengers. Those wailers also failed to reckon the effect of relying on monoproduct economy, and failure for not reserving some funds by the callous looters of previous government.
