A total of 88 students who were admitted to McPherson University for the 2016/2017 academic session have been matriculated.

At the 5th matriculation ceremony held at the institution’s campus, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adeniyi Agunbiade warned the new intakes against social vices capable of tarnishing the image of the University and getting rusticated.

The Vice Chancellor gave the breakdown of the figure of the admitted students as 44 at the College of Social and Management Sciences (COSMAS), 29 at the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS) and 11 at the College of Humanities (COLHUM).

He said the admitted students will be running 12 courses including Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, and Mass Communication.

“However, let me emphasize what the founding fathers of this University and the society at large expect much from you. We maintain a culture of academic excellence in line with our vision of building a People of Excellence and Integrity for Service.

“McU will not harbour drug peddlers, gamblers, pilfers and those who bully fellow students or constitute a threat to lives on campus. We shall not tolerate misconduct, indecent dressing, immoral behaviours and all forms of examination malpractice, cultism and other social vices,” the Vice Chancellor harped.

Prof. Agunbiade told them that guilty students will face the wrath of the University’s Senate which ranges from rustication to outright expulsion.
