The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has inaugurated the newly elected executives for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of the association.
Also inaugurated in Abuja at the weekend was a 10-member executive of the Women Wing of the Christians Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN).
Inaugurating the executives, the President of CAN, Dr. Samson Ayokunle, called on Christians across the country to brace up to the current challenges through prayers.
Represented by the Chairman, North Central Zone of CAN, Rev. Israel Akanji, Ayokunle further said that it is pertinent for the people as children of God to be their brother’s keeper, urging them not to allow challenges in the country to mar them but make them.
Also, the Guest Speaker and President of Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA), Prof. Jeremiah Gado, said majority of problems currently in the church and the society were as a result of bad leadership.
He listed prayer, vision, planning among other pillars that must be built and developed by the incoming leadership of CAN in the nation’s capital to promote unity.
Other members of the executives are Vice Chairman, Dr. Michael Osamor; Secretary, Bishop Michael Akapami; Assistant Secretary, Dr. Princewill Iruoha; Treasurer, Rev. Robert Achiaga; and Director of Education, Youth and Women Development, Pastor David Amos Wetben, among others.
