As we await Buhari’s arrival

-

It has been reported that President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) will come back soon from the United Kingdom. He went for vacation and medical treatment. The health of a human being deserves a lot of concern; the health of a 70 year old should be of higher concern; also the health of the President should be of highest concern.

Therefore, the health of a 74 year old President is of utmost priority with maximum and optimum treatment, care, concern and support. The President was not bedridden according to statements and pictures from the Presidency. The top three Nigerians after PMB buttressed this point after speaking with him on phone. The guess is that either he went for a check-up or he was indisposed.

Mr. President while you were away, Nigerians protested in support and against your government. As Group “A” was complaining about inflation, Group “B” was praising and supporting you for decimating Boko Haram, Anti-corruption fight and employing the youths. There was neither a clash between the protesters nor were there casualties. The Acting President helped in dousing the tension with his statement “we hear you loud and clear”. Illness is quite demoralizing and can be the lowest point of a human being. The protesters against the govt should have sympathized with Mr. President on his illness. Only a callous child attacks his sick father.

Acting President Osinbajo did well in your absence he followed your directives like; sending the name of Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) to the Senate for confirmation; setting up a committee to look into the hike in food prices; Finally, he met with the Senate President and Speaker concerning the 2017 budget. Nigerians are glad the nation was not on autopilot.

Some airlines are against rerouting flights to Kaduna Airport but don’t worry sir. Fashola will ensure that the Kaduna-Abuja road is repaired on time, Inspector General of Police (IGP) will provide security, Governor El-Rufa’i is constructing an 8km road that will link the Rigasa train station and the Kaduna airport in order to reduce traffic. When the job is done Amaechi and Sirika will prevail on the airlines and hopefully they would rescind their decision. Immediately you get back sir just reiterate what you want to the aforementioned, I am pretty sure they will hit the ground running.

A child enjoys the return of his dad. The dad coming back hale and hearty is joyful for the child. Mr President Nigerians can’t wait for you to be back, so as to come and finish what you’ve started (good governance, transparency, accountability, welfare and security of citizens etc.). We have faith in you and believe that you will take us to the Promised Land.

May Allah guide and protect you, may He grant you good health and wisdom. Amin.
