The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) has condemned the destruction of the foundation of the military base in Kafanchan, in southern part of Kaduna State and called on government to fish out the perpetrators.

The foundation structure of a proposed military battalion on the outskirts of Kafanchan was destroyed last week by unidentified persons barely a week after the foundation was laid.

The Zonal Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Musa Albaka said in an interview in Kaduna that the act of the attackers was condemnable. He said, “We have been clamouring for a military base for over 15 years and we are glad that this administration thought it necessary to establish one. I want to assure the government that the Fulani are ready to give the government the necessary support to ensure the completion of the base.”

The senator representing the Southern Kaduna Senatorial District, Danjuma La’aah has also expressed shock over the destruction of the foundation of the proposed Army formation.

He said the action was not only unacceptable but a disturbing signal that some people did not wish security and peace for the zone.

“I’m particularly saddened by this development because I have worked very hard towards lobbying the federal government for at least a military formation in Kafanchan and environs since 2015,” he said, adding that the action carried out by the vandals did not represent the collective wish of Southern Kaduna, and urged the authorities to identify and punish the vandals.
