FCTA awards contract for projects in Kogi
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has awarded contract for three projects in Kogi West Senatorial District, immediate constituency of Chairman of the Senate Committee on FCT, Senator Dino Melaye, documents seen by Daily Trust have shown.
The approval of the contracts was signed by the director of FCT department of procurement, Hassan Tilde on behalf of the Minister of FCT.
Daily Trust had exclusively reported in December last year of moves by the FCTA to execute 19 projects in Kogi West Senatorial District.
Out of the 19, our correspondent obtained copies of approval of 3 contracts. The contracts were awarded to Kings Resources Limited, Pitch Global Services Limited and Austin Global Services Limited last Tuesday.
The contractors are all based in Abuja, according to the addresses quoted on the approval documents.
The three contracts, according to the approvals amount to N155 million.
The approval were tagged, “award of contract for the construction of three blocks of four classrooms at Sarki Noma and Lokogoma in Lokoja local government area, award of contract for the construction of two blocks of four classrooms at Amuro and Mopa and award of contract for the construction of town hall at Koton-Karfe, Kogi West under 2016 special constituency projects”.
Contacted on the award of the contracts, FCT Chief press secretary, Muhammad Sule Hazat said “The Federal Government is executing the 19 constituency projects in Kogi west, not the FCTA.”
Sule said “the FCT Administration is only an implementation Agency, a role that is also being played by other Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government in respect of the Constituency Projects across the country.”
