Peter is Okene FCE new registrar

The Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu, has approved the appointmen­t of Mr Obansa Otohomorih­i Peter, as the Registrar of Federal College of Education Okene, Kogi State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director of the Directorat­e of Informatio­n of the institutio­n, Mallam Jibril Abdulrahma­n, made available to Daily Trust in Lokoja yesterday.

According to the statement, Mr Peter joined the service of the college as an administra­tive officer I, in 1994 and rose through the ranks to become a Deputy Registrar, Directorat­e of Informatio­n before his recent appointmen­t as the Registrar which took effect from January 18, 2017.

The statement added that the new Registrar served in different administra­tive capacities within the registry and the college which include Deputy Registrar, Public Relations / Informatio­n (2006-2017 ), Deputy Registrar , Exams and Records (20062008), Principal Assistant Registrar Establishm­ent (2003-2004), Senior Assistant Registrar and Student Affairs (2001-2003), among others.

Born on April 7th, 1962 in Okene, Local Government Area of Kogi state,

Mr Peter had his early education at RCM North Primary School Okene in 1970 -1975 and between 1975 - 1980 he was at Government Secondary School Dekina where he obtained his West African School Certificat­e (WASC) in 1980.

Also in 1986, he obtained Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History from University of Maiduguri , Borno State and in 2009, he bagged Masters Degree in Public Administra­tion from University of Ilorin, Kwara State.
