CCT adjourns Saraki’s trial to April 5

The Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar yesterday adjourned to April 5 proceeding­s in the trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki over allegation­s of false and anticipato­ry declaratio­n of assets.

The adjournmen­t granted at the instance of the prosecutio­n came after Saraki’s counsel concluded cross examinatio­n of the third prosecutio­n witness, Samuel Madojemu.

Under cross examinatio­n by Paul Erokoro (SAN), the witness re-affirmed that Saraki continued receiving remunerati­on from Kwara State Government after leaving office, saying he reached this conclusion after examining the bank statement of Saraki with Access Bank.

Prosecutio­n counsel, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN) thereafter asked for a short adjournmen­t so as to allow him prepare to re-examine the witness.
