While 26 states chairman of the party loyal to the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the party held their meeting at the Valencia Hotel, 22 others who also claimed to be authentic chairmen in their state held another meeting with Senator Ali Modu Sheriff at the PDP national secretariat.

The meeting of the 26 states chairmen was headed by the chairman of the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the party, Paul Ebong Ekpo at a time when the 22 others led by the party’s chairm of the Capital Territory (FCT), Yunusa Suleiman.

Addressing newsmen, Mr. Ekpo said their meeting was in tune with the efforts of the reconciliation committee headed by Governor Seriake Dickson.

On his part, Sheriff said those who held meeting with him were the authentic chairmen of the party, insisting that “if anyone says you are fake, it is not you that is fake; it is the person that is fake."
