Four people killed in London attack
An attack has left multiple victims wounded on Westminster Bridge in London with at least one assailant shot by police on Wednesday.
Four people were killed in the attack, including a police officer and the attacker, at least 20 others were injured, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley told reporters.
Rowley said that a “full counter-terrorism investigation” into the attack was under way.
He said the attack started when a car was driven over Westminster Bridge, hitting and injuring a number of civilians and three police officers on their way back from a commendation ceremony.
The car then crashed close to the parliament building, where at least one man, armed with a knife, continued the attack and tried to enter the building.
The London Ambulance Service said it treated at least 10 patients on Westminster Bridge. One woman was pulled out alive from the River Thames with serious wounds by port authorities.
