How bandits killed delivery agent in Rivers

Rivers State Police Command has deployed its intelligen­ce unit to unravel the circumstan­ces surroundin­g the killing of a delivery agent attached to an on line shop.

The deceased, a male, whose name could not be ascertain by press time had gone to Ada George axis of Port Harcourt to deliver parcels that contained two iPhones and a motorbike.

The delivery agent was reportedly hacked to death on arrival at the premises.

Neighbors within the scene of the crime said they suspected movements within the compound and that they alerted men of the antirobber­y unit of the Police, immediatel­y.

“On arrival the compound, the Police arrested three persons, who to later led them to a soak away pit where the deceased body was dumped.

The body was brought out of the pit by the Police,’’ a witness said.

Rivers State Commission­er of Police, Ahmed Zaki, who led some police officer to the scene of crime, said the deceased had gone to Ada George to deliver a parcel but was killed by some bandits.

He said the bandits attacked the deceased, tied him with a rope and killed him before dumping the body in a soaker away pit.

He said three persons were arrested, adding that the suspects are helping the police in their investigat­ions.

One of the suspects, who identified himself as Ogbon, confirmed that he was the owner of the parcel but absolved himself from the death of the agent.
