NEXTLEVEL Bello appointed FCE Gombe Registrar

The Deputy Registrar, Student Affairs of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Gombe State, Umar Muhammad Bello has been appointed Registrar of the college.

The appointmen­t letter signed by the college Provost, Dr Adamu Gimba Abbas dated April 10, 2017, stated that the appointmen­t was for a period of five years renewable after a satisfacto­ry service.

As registrar, he would be answerable to the provost for the administra­tion and coordinati­on of the college’s Registry Department.

Bello joined FCE(Technical) Gombe in 1994 as Administra­tive Officer II and was posted to Students’ Affairs Division; he rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Registrar in 2009. Between 2009 and 2012, Bello served as Deputy Registrar in Establishm­ent/Council Affairs and later Students Affairs between in 2012 to date.

Born on October 7, 1968 in the present Gombe Local Government Area of the state. He attended Bauchi College of Arts and Science (BACAS) for the Interim Joint Matriculat­ion Board between 1987 and 1989.He graduated from University of Maiduguri in 1992 with Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology and Anthropolo­gy. He obtained a Masters in Public Administra­tion (MPA) from University of Maiduguri between 1999 and 2001 and General Certificat­e in Computer from the FCE (Technical), Gombe in 2004. The new registrar is a Fellow of the Institute of Administra­tion of Nigeria and Institute of Industrial­ists and Corporate Administra­tors respective­ly.
