Somali pirate jailed for life

A Somali man has been sentenced to life in prison by a US judge for his role in an attack on a US Navy ship seven years ago. Mohamed Farah and five other Somali pirates attacked the USS Ashland in April, 2010 off the coast of Djibouti.

The Ashland fired on their skiff, setting it ablaze and forcing the pirates to abandon ship. They were rescued and later handed over to the authorities.
