@LatifatOpoola “Every entrepreneur desires success but ensuring that when recognition and success is eventually achieved, one does not get carried away by it” said Abubakar Al-Mustapha, a rising entrepreneur.

Mustapha who is an Abuja based fashion designer said in an interview said many youth want to venture into entrepreneurship but don’t usually prepare themselves for the demands that come with it.

The 25 year old Economics graduate of University of Abuja started his business ‘M1 Fashion House’ last year to fend for himself and stay off the labour market.

”I have always wanted to be a fashion designer because fashion is what I do best. I love looking good, and I also want to earn my own business, I am at an age where I need to be independent now,” he said.

He said when the interest and determination is there, nothing can discourage one from achieving his goal.

“I started with N35,000, it wasn’t enough at the time but I knew I needed to start, so I ploughed the money into the business and today it is growing steadily” the employer of two said.

His outfits range from shirts and kaftans for guys and kimonos for ladies, while promising for a wide range of variety in the nearest future.

“Our major demand is the persistent rise in the cost of materials due to the current recession faced by the country” Mustapha lamented.

He also revealed the challenge of failed forecast for the high demand period of his products most times.

He called on youth to be resilient in pursuing their dreams.
