JAMB vows to tackle challenges at CBT centers

- From Lami Sadiq, Jos

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board ( JAMB), at the weekend rose from an emergency meeting with heads of Computer Based Test (CBT) centres in Jos assuring that it will tackle all challenges during the May 13th examinations as soon as they become visible.

“Nigerians should note that there could be one or two challenges in some centres; but the most important thing is our ability to urgently address such when they rear their face,” a statement signed by the board’s Head, Media and Publicity, Dr. Fabian Benjamin stated.

The statement made available at the end of the meeting also noted that, “We will do our very best and where there are challenges, we will work without hesitation to ensure that it is corrected immediately for candidates to have a smooth examination. Nations are grown through innovation and there is no innovation if there is no trial.”

It noted that JAMB concluded the sale of 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) application document recording over 1.7 million candidates at the close of the site by 12 midnight on Friday adding that the disclosure of the actual number of candidates registered is a clear invitation for the public to know what the Board has realised from the sale for this year.

Dr. Benjamin however told Daily Trust on phone that after several briefings with the CBT centres to certify their readiness for the examinations, the board had asked centres that had some challenges during the mock exercise to rectify them before tomorrow or face being deleted.
