Geidam and 2019 desperate politicians

-

It’s clearly known to everyone that Governor Ibrahim Geidam is serving his second term which is the last part of his tenure as the chief executive officer of Yobe state. Notwithstanding, what baffles the governor the most, is the fate of the state in the 2019 election as he’s expected to hand over to his successor.

He was quoted on several occasions that he will not hand over the state’s number one office to an absentee politician, though he stressed that he’s not the one to give but God, however with the prayers of Yobeans and their support it’s possible.

On the other hand, the governor is making it bold because he wants a successor that knows what the masses need and is domiciled in the state so as to continue with the good works and remarkable developmental stride in the state.

The point is clear that there are many aspirants to the office of the governor; some are known while some are showing their interests and others remain unknown. But the most important thing is that Governor Geidam’s achievements makes him the most formidable politician in the state thus without his support it would be very difficult for a candidate to attain the dream of becoming the next governor.

Some are so desperate that they have started making moves and ganging up to see whether they could dislodge the governor and occupy Government House, Damaturu by hook or crook. These politicians are finding it difficult to maneuver as the governing party’s constitution states that the sitting governor in state is the leader of the party.

It’s now not an easy task for politicians to join together in a group, especially for the purpose of intimidation or opposition against a very popular governor who in every angle of the state has a stronghold support. All I can say is the battle line has been drawn and only God knows what and how it will end. Yahaya Abubakar Damaturu, Yobe State. Bakabe,
