SPORT Odaudu pledges improved outing against Customs

- By Orkula Shaagee

@shagcy Rivers Hoopers’ coach, Ogoh Odaudu has promised to make up for the mistakes made against Nigeria Customs in the league opener in Lagos. The KingsMen will resume the second round of the 2016/2017 Kwese Premier Basketball League with a home game against last season’s finalist, Nigeria Customs today.

The Port Harcourt side ended the first round at the summit of the league table, winning 6 out of the 7 games played, with their only loss against today’s Lagos based opponents, Customs on Match Day 1.

Port Harcourt-based Hoopers have since maintained a winning sequence spanning six games going to the second round.

Odaudu is hopeful his side can get a victory against Customs.

“If you were in Lagos with us you could see that it was because it was our first game that’s why we lost that game. We had no business throwing that game away. We will come out and work on all the mistakes we made in that. I think you will see a better game and hopefully run away with a victory,” Odaudu assured.

Customs are currently placed third on the Atlantic Conference table having won one game short of leaders Hoopers’ six and will come up against two of their former stars, Emmanuel Balogun and Solomon Ajegbeyi in today’s game at the Basketball Court, 59 Niger Street, Port Harcourt. Game time as usual is 4pm.
